We are seeking an experienced Project Manager for Laboratory Projects to lead the planning and delivery of lab-related initiatives across a dynamic scientific environment. This role is ideal for someone who understands how laboratories operate and can confidently coordinate between scientists, technical experts, facility teams, and external partners.

You will oversee projects such as new lab setups, lab renovations, equipment installations, and user relocations—ensuring smooth execution, strong stakeholder alignment, and full compliance with safety, regulatory, and sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead laboratory fit‑out, renovation, and transition projects from planning through completion.
  • Coordinate lab user moves and equipment installations with minimal disruption to scientific work.
  • Support strategic planning for lab space allocation and optimization across sites.
  • Collaborate with scientists, lab users, and technical teams to translate workflows and equipment needs into project requirements.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, risks, and documentation.
  • Oversee contractor performance, review proposals and cost estimates, and manage change orders.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and sustainability requirements.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops (in English and German) and drive alignment across diverse groups.
  • Manage project governance activities, reporting, and handover of completed facilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, engineering, facility management, laboratory technology, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience managing laboratory projects in pharma, biotech, academia, or similar settings.
  • Strong understanding of lab workflows, equipment (e.g., fume hoods, biosafety cabinets, analytical instruments), and safety/regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience coordinating lab relocations and working closely with scientific users.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and translate technical needs into actionable plans.
  • Solid project management skills, including planning, risk management, and documentation.
  • Fluency in English;
    German proficiency strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
