Our client is seeking a credible, hands-on leader to lead and develop a global programme management function, ensuring consistent execution, strong governance, and exceptional customer experience.

• Build and lead a high-performing global team of Programme Managers, raising capability, accountability, and engagement across the function.
• Ensure consistent, high-quality programme delivery through strong governance, planning, risk management, and customer escalation management.
• Strengthen customer success and commercial outcomes by improving programme execution, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Lead, coach, and performance-manage a team of Programme Managers across multiple programmes and customers.
• Allocate customer accounts effectively, balancing workload, capability, and development needs across the team.
• Act as a senior customer escalation point, resolving complex delivery, relationship, or performance issues quickly and professionally.
• Drive consistent use of programme management tools, systems, and methodologies across the PMO.
• Shape and evolve PMO standards, governance, and ways of working to support quality, efficiency, and scalable growth.
• Partner closely with Sales, Operations, and other functions to support account growth and strengthen customer relationships.
• Lead continuous improvement and change initiatives, embedding best practice while bringing teams with you.

• Extensive senior programme management experience within an outsourced, client-facing life sciences environment such as CRO, CDMO, or regulated services.
• Proven ownership of large, complex, multi-site programmes with external customers.
• Strong people leadership and line management experience, including coaching, performance management, and capability building.
• High level of customer-facing credibility, with the ability to manage executive-level discussions and challenging situations.
• Strong commercial awareness and business acumen, with an understanding of how programme delivery impacts margin, risk, and customer retention.
• Degree in Life Sciences or a related discipline.
• Postgraduate qualification and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification are gold standard.
