Our client is seeking a strategic leader to define strategy and portfolio direction for their Small Molecules business.

• Own and continuously refine the strategic roadmap for the Small Molecules segment, including growth priorities, capability gaps, and capital allocation logic.
• Translate corporate strategy into clear segment level priorities and trade offs with measurable business outcomes.
• Lead strategic scenario planning and track performance against strategic goals, reporting insights to executive leadership.
• Own portfolio governance including decisions to invest, scale, maintain, partner, or exit service offerings.
• Develop robust business cases for new service development, capability expansion, and capacity investments.
• Define mergers and acquisitions (M&A) screening criteria, assess strategic fit of potential targets, and support value creation planning.
• Generate market and competitive insights to guide strategic positioning, pricing principles, and target customer segments.

• These are the skills and experience you will need to succeed as the Head of Strategy & Portfolio – Small Molecules:
• 10+ years of experience in Strategy, Portfolio Management, Business Development, Marketing Strategy, or Management Consulting.
• Experience shaping or managing complex service portfolios with accountability for lifecycle decisions and return on investment.
• Exposure to pharmaceutical services environments such as Contract Research Organisations (CRO), Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisations (CDMO), or similar life sciences service providers.
• Strong strategic thinking and trade off analysis with the ability to translate data into clear strategic choices.
• Executive level communication skills and the ability to influence cross functional senior stakeholders.
• Master’s degree in science, engineering, or business.
• Additional postgraduate qualifications are desirable.
