EMEA Recruitment is currently recruiting for an Category Manager Indirecton behalf of a rapidly growing, global leader in the biotechnology and life sciences sector.
This role is based out of the Basel office with hybrid working possible (suitable candidates should be able to be present in the Basel office ideally a minimum of one day per week).
This role offers the opportunity to join a high-growth organization dedicated to delivering life‑changing oncology treatments to patients worldwide.
As Category Manager Indirect, you will:- Lead the strategic sourcing and management of key commercial categories, such as Marketing, Market Access, and wider Indirect spend
- Lead projects and Change Management initiatives, and be the primary point of contact for navigating complex stakeholder inquiries and driving operational excellence during a period of significant organizational expansion
- Work with Operations, Finance, and other disciplines on category-related inquiries from stakeholders and suppliers
- Bring prior experience of working in the life sciences or pharma industry and have held previous exposure to Indirect spend categories
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry is essential
- 5-10 years of experience in Procurement with a proven track record in Change Management
- Strong background in Strategic Sourcing and Category Management, ideally within a fast‑paced, international matrix
- Excellent negotiation and influencing abilities, with a focus on fostering sustainable value through supplier engagement
- Professional certifications such as PMP, Prince2, Agile, or Six Sigma are highly beneficial
- Fluent English is essential
- A collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset is key to success in this "borderless" Procurement environment
