ResponsibilitiesEach day presents different challenges as we maintain 100% compliance through daily process monitoring and a comprehensive maintenance system. May participate in an on‑call rotation on weekends, holidays and outside normal workday hours. May be required to respond to emergencies or unpredicted situations.
- The ideal candidate will perform routine, preventive and corrective maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities and sewer collection systems.
- Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance assignments as directed by the project s preventive maintenance and repair program.
- Perform housekeeping duties in the maintenance department and on maintenance vehicles as assigned by the project manager.
- Work in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures.
- Perform work to meet goals and objectives set by the project manager.
- Operate plant equipment such as aerators, pumps, lift stations, instrumentation, motors, chemcial feed systems, meters, and other related plant components and equipment.
- Maintain and adjust plant equipment to achieve treatment results and compliance with the plant operating permit.
- Perform daily facility checks to document operational status and maintenance requirements.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation on weekends, holidays, and outside normal workday hours; respond to emergencies as needed.
- High school or trade school diploma required; courses in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance are a plus.
- Minimum of seven years’ experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
- Knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office, CMMS, and SCADA.
- Experience with maintenance of pumps, compressors, and plumbing fixtures.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Working knowledge of methods, tools, and materials used in development, construction, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment used in wastewater treatment and collection systems.
- Knowledge of the National Electric Code and programmable logic controllers/industrial electronics.
- Safety skills for varied mechanical work, including welding; ability to read and interpret manuals, drawings, and specifications; maintain records using CMMS.
- Ability to troubleshoot electromechanical control systems; calibrate process control instrumentation; install electrical conduit and plumbing.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure with competing demands; knowledge of safety precautions in wastewater treatment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with superiors, colleagues, and the public.
