Tourism and Sports Marketing Division:
Student Intern Temp (4 positions available)
Pay Range: $15.00/hr.
Shift: Monday – Sunday, Various Hours, (20-40 Hours/Week)
Seasonal Positions:

May 2026 through August 2026
Internships Available:
- Sports and Special Events Intern – Auburndale, FL (3 positions available)
- Visitor Experience Intern – Davenport, FL ( 1 position available)
Must have the physical, developmental and mental ability to perform job tasks, work efforts, responsibilities and duties of the job illustrated below:
Major FunctionProvides assistance with day-to-day operations and the marketing efforts of Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing.
Illustrative DutiesTo assist in the advancement of the Tourism and Sports Marketing Plan, the Tourism and Sports Marketing Intern holds the following responsibilities:
- Assist in the setup and operation of events recruited and hosted by Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing.
- Assist with the development and organization of administrative documents, reports, and general office projects as needed.
- Work closely with owners of events hosted in Polk County to assist in the onsite operation and event setup.
- Assist in facility operations at various sports facilities throughout Polk County.
- Assist Visit Central Florida marketing staff in gathering information and content to be used in Marketing and Social Media campaigns.
- Work closely with various departments on projects and event preparation, including but not limited to, Sales and Recruitment, Event Logistics, Sponsor ships, Digital and Social Media.
- Ability to research and prepare informational data, promotional brochures, reports and materials.
- Ability to assist in physical setup and operations of sporting events
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, use of electronic communications, preparing presentations, internet research, and social media.
- Ability to work nights and weekends at various facilities throughout Polk County
Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field or
a recent graduate from an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field with in the last 24 months.
