Responsible for the decontamination, prepping, packaging and sterilization of all instrumentation processed through the department following established department procedures. Acts as preceptor, mentor and resource in support of department team members.

Specific skills also includes knowledge of decontamination processes, preparation, and packaging, sterilization techniques based on manufacturer recommendations, and storage of sterilized items, as well as knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up and interpreting policies, procedures, and protocols and reviewing performance in compliance with recognized standards.

• High School or Equivalent
• HSPA (Health System Performance Assessment), CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician), CBSPDT (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Technicians)
