fms/ams specialist iv / district one / traffic operations

this position will develop and manage professional and contractual services contracts, support development of the department’s transportation systems management & operations (tms&o) program at the district, regional and statewide levels, evaluate and make recommendations relating to the application of new technology to support the department’s fms/ams programs, and provide review comments on plan submittals generated by the department and other entities, perform engineering review and analysis.

annual salary range:

$ 71,147.02 - $ 92,072.61

your specific responsibilities:

develops and manages professional and contractual services contracts and other types of agreements that support traffic operations functions including, but not limited to, traffic signal maintenance contract agreements (tsmca), road ranger incident management service patrol program, rapid incident scene clearance (risc) program and traffic incident management (tim) teams. Includes developing documentation for contract funding, rfps and related documents; participates on technical review committees (trc);

evaluates contract work products; evaluates consultants; and processes/approves invoices.

supports development of the department's transportation systems management & operations (tsm&o) program at the district, regional and statewide levels. Includes participating on task teams and providing input on business/strategic plans. Provides support during project implementation phases. Includes attendance at project meetings; interaction with project cei (construction engineering and inspection) personnel, contractors, vendors and federal highway administration (fhwa); and participation in project acceptance testing.
