This work involves assisting in daily operation of the City of Bartow Summer Recreation Program. Work is performed under the supervision of the Summer Recreation Coordinator and the Athletic Superintendent.
APPLICANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE TO ATTEND PAID PRE-CAMP TRAINING SESSIONS AND WORK THE FULL (8) WEEK SESSION
Responsibilities- Assist in the daily activities including attending all field trips, games, arts and crafts and any other event deemed beneficial to the children.
- Ensure the safety of the children participating in the events, performing cleaning and maintenance duties, and setting up and breaking down materials required to run the program.
- Carry out established rules by supervising campers and enforcing camp safety regulations.

Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone
Knowledge and Skills- Knowledge of child education and teaching techniques as well as child recreational activities and child supervision methods
- Must have knowledge of basic first aid
- Ability to accept supervision and guidance
- Ability to assist in teaching an activity
High school diploma or equivalent;
One year of study at a college in recreation, elementary education, P.
E., Art, Music, Drama, or related field;
Minimum age 17 or graduated from high school.
Special Requirements
- Valid Florida Driver’s License required
- Must have a valid home telephone number
- Must have a basic knowledge of first aid
- First Aid/ CPR Certification
