Overview

Guidance Preparatory Academy Bartonville is a licensed childcare center seeking an Assistant Teacher for the School Age program.

Qualifications
: A high school diploma or GED, six months of classroom experience, and ability to pass all background checks. CDA is highly preferred. You must be 23 or older to drive the bus.

Schedule
:
Monday – Friday, 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Compensation
: $16-$18 per hour, based on education and experience

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
  • Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; use the parent communication app efficiently.
  • Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
  • Be responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, respond to their emotional needs, and maintain an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
  • Maintain a child assessment and portfolio for each child, and conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences in November and May.
  • Demonstrate the physical ability to work around small children (sitting, standing, walking, running, climbing stairs).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
  • Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
