Position: Registered Nurse (RN)

Bartlett Regional Hospital is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical team!

This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, plus 30 days of housing. Contact Human Resources at  for details.

Pay Information:

Internal Hires:
Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based on applicable Rules or Union Contract Terms.

External Hires:
Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based on relevant experience.

RN 1 starts at $38.90 per hour

RN 2 starts at $44.09 per hour

RN 3 starts at $46.29 per hour

Job Summary:

RN 1: This position provides basic nursing care in predictable situations to a limited number of patients under direct supervision. RN 1’s are typically new graduates or returning to the profession after a prolonged absence. Performance is guided by rules and competencies to be met. RN 1’s are able to recognize attributes of a clinical situation without extensive situational experience. With oversight and/or guidance, the RN 1 renders individualized nursing care to meet the patient’s physical, psychological, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing needs.

Care to each patient is based upon the nursing process and in accordance with the hospital’s policy and procedure and CARE values. RN 1 participates in other hospital committees and teams as appropriate.

RN 2: RN 2 independently plans and implements routine nursing care using standards and knowledge obtained during education and preceptorship. RN 2 begins to assume leadership responsibility and requires minimal supervision. RN 2 has the ability to use accurate, clear, and concise oral and written communication. RN 2 will work as a team and maintain effective working relationships, use critical thinking skills, analyze, and communicate findings effectively.

Incumbents require basic computer literacy and the ability to learn new software programs, as well as the ability to efficiently operate a variety of automated office equipment.

RN 3: A Registered Nurse (RN) 3 is an advanced level who is assigned at least one float area and renders individualized comprehensive nursing care to meet the patients  physical, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural, and educational needs. RN 3 provides the best possible preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care to each patient based upon the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policy and procedure.

The RN functions under the oversight and direction of the Nursing Supervisor. Independently plans and implements routine nursing care in the assigned department. Needs minimal supervision. Rapid Response Team and Code Team responder. Float pool staff may cover ED, CCU, Med/Surg, MHU, OB and RRC.

Minimum Qualifications for the Job
:

RN 1:

License: Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Experience: New graduate RNs or RNs with less than one (1) year current acute care or comparable experience, or RN with no nursing experience in the past five (5) years. New graduates will remain at the RN 1 level for a minimum of six (6) months after the completion of their preceptorship and must promote to an RN 2 within 18 months of hire.
  • Certification(s): Reference Mandatory Education for Clinical and Support Staff Policy for most current Certification requirements.

RN 2:

License: Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Experience: Advancement from an RN 1 or at least one (1) year, continuous experience in a comparable patient care setting. RNs must remain at this level for a minimum of one year before applying for advancement.
  • Certification(s): Reference Mandatory Education for Clinical and Support Staff Policy for most current Certification requirements.

RN 3:

Education: BSN preferred.

License: Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Experience: Three (3) years of current clinical experience. (Current indicates experience within the last five years from time of application) or one (1) year of experience as a Bartlett RN 2. New employees are required to obtain a float area within 6 months.
    • Proficient clinical competency in primary specialty and a minimum of experience in one (1) float area required when promoting.
