Facility Assistant

The Bartlett Public Library District is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Facility Assistant. This position supports the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the library’s facilities by performing routine maintenance, custodial duties, and set‑ups to ensure a welcoming environment for staff and patrons.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform custodial, janitorial, and other housekeeping duties, including but not limited to: cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, mopping, removing trash, replenishing supplies, and dusting.
• Maintain safe, clean, sanitary conditions throughout the building and grounds.
• Perform a variety of maintenance work for the library.
• Assist with care of trees, lawns, and shrubbery.
• Assist with snow and ice removal.
• Assist with preparations for special functions by arranging furniture, mounting decorations, and setting up equipment.
• Set up meeting rooms for Library programs.
• Report unusual conditions to management.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 3-5 years of experience with building maintenance procedures.
• Minimum three (3) years of management experience.
