** Summary
* * Responsible for providing assistance to the Transfer Station Supervisor and direction for the daily operation of a solid waste processing facility in a Transfer Station setting. Also, responsible for ensuring all guidelines set by the Site’s Operating Plan are followed and met daily.
** Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
* * include the following. Other duties may be assigned*.
* Support Transfer Station Supervisor and crews by providing equipment and resources as needed.
* Assist Transfer Station Supervisor meet TCEQ requirements for Transfer Stations
* Drive equipment as a back-up driver to cover down routes.
* Assist Transfer Station Supervisor with work schedules, training, and other administrative duties as needed.
* Ensure all team members are adequately trained to operate assigned equipment and perform job duties.
* Provide customer service as required.
* Complete daily reports and ensure accuracy and thoroughness of submitted documentation.
* Provide supervision of Transfer Station on a daily basis and the Transfer Station crews when Field Supervisor is absent or otherwise unavailable.
** Minimum Qualifications
*** High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
* 4 years related experience with a variety of solid waste and/or heavy equipment operating skills experience

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
** Preferred Qualifications
** Education/

Experience:

* 4-6 years’ experience as equipment operator in waste disposal/delivery
* Up to 1 year of experience in a leadership role preferred.
** Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
*** Considerable knowledge of safety standard practices governing the operation of vehicles
* Considerable knowledge of the principles, operation and servicing of heavy equipment
* Skill to operate controls for required equipment
* Ability to properly use, operate and care for tools, equipment and materials
* Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment
* Ability to read and understand operator’s manual
** Licenses and Certifications
*** Valid Class A Texas Commercial driver’s license
* Class B TCEQ Municipal Solid Waste license or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment
** Physical Requirements / Work Environment
** The incumbent works in an outdoor environment; frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards.  Majority of work performed outside or with exposure to risk.
