- Utica Park Clinic, founded in 1982, is a multi-specialty medical group with more than 300 employed physicians and advanced practice providers representing over 25 specialties across 80+ clinics in Oklahoma.
The Medical Assistant provides superior patient care and performs administrative and delegated clinical tasks that support patients in a clinic-based environment as part of a care team led by a physician and/or advanced practice provider.
- Enter, maintain, and report all medical history, medical coding, and file claims using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Support patient visits: greet patients, escort them to the exam room, take vital signs, and gather applicable medical information for the treatment plan.
- Sterilize and prepare instruments; ensure exam rooms are disinfected, orderly, and ready for patients; provide privacy, comfort, safety and hygiene.
- Assist in inventory management and stocking supplies, instruments and equipment for all exam rooms.
- Maintain inventory paperwork and review orders for completeness.
- Request referrals and insurance authorizations; pass along patient information for prescriptions, x-rays or lab requisitions to pharmacies, hospitals and labs.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge.
- BLS certification required within 14 days of start.
Job Requirements
- Associate’s degree.
- Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program or have three years of MA experience.
- Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
