What We Are Looking For

The Lead LVN works under the supervision of the LVN Manager to coordinate and maintain a smooth operation within the clinic back office. Interfaces with staff and clinicians to assure clinical efficiency and maximum productivity. Directs clinic back office personnel, monitoring productivity while emphasizing completeness and concern for the patient.

Schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm |

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DELIVERABLES
  • Directs back office team on a day-to-day basis ensuring job tasks are performed in a productive and high quality manner.
  • Develops back office personnel work schedule, ensuring adequate coverage.
  • Ensures team participation in quality control functions according to Policy and Procedure (expired meds, sterilization criteria and logs) by creating and submitting weekly reports.
  • Orders supplies and maintains storage room to ensure rooms are fully stocked.
  • Monitors job performances and provides input for performance reviews. Maintains cohesive team environment.
  • Assists in developing and ensuring implementation of new hire training protocol; participates training of personnel.
  • Instructs and or schedules patients regarding test procedures ordered by physician, notifies patient/parent of test results after physician review.
  • Uses LVN Scope of Practice skills and knowledge to anticipate potential problems using preventive care approach. Formulates alternative solutions using effective problem‑solving techniques.
  • Ability to collaborate, support and function in a teaching organization that builds, coaches and embraces interns and residency programs. Must demonstrate a passion for the team and have the ability to consistently work with rotating doctors, residents and interns, while continuously building a trusting, safe, patient centered workplace.
  • Meets with MA/LVN staff on a regular basis to assure optimal productivity, support, resolve problems and maintain line of communication.
  • Actively participates in development of new methods to improve clinical operations.
  • Ensures proper operations, calibration, and maintenance of equipment in all clinical areas.
  • Ensure quality control functions, according to policy and procedure (expired medication, instruments processing). Implement/maintain universal precautions.
  • Process paperwork i.e. forms and labs as necessary, while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Maintains patient flow for optimal function of clinic.
  • Must be able to adhere to the Attendance policy and procedure.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be culturally sensitive and respect diversity, work effectively and with individuals of different cultures and socioeconomic status;

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education:

    High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    Current, active and unrestricted LVN License required; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (must be American Heart Association or Red Cross accredited program). As a requirement of this position, you must receive EPIC certification for the module you have been hired into.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of three (3) years' experience as an LVN is required. Experience in an FQHC outpatient setting is highly preferred.
