Part Time Faculty Pool - Communication Studies; Speech Communication

Overview

This is a continuous recruitment for an applicant pool to fill part-time (up to 67%), substitute, temporary, or hourly assignments on an as needed basis. Departments will refer to the pool of applications on file, as needed, to fill temporary assignments. This recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies.

Applications for Part-Time Instructors are always being accepted for assignments at the main campus as well as teaching online and at off-campus sites located at Fort Irwin. Assignments are at the discretion of the District.

Master s in speech, speech broadcasting, telecommunications, rhetoric, communication, communication studies, speech communication or organizational communication OR Bachelor s in any of the above AND Master s in drama/theater arts, mass communication or English OR the equivalent.

• Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse, academic, socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

• Demonstrated proficiency in teaching at the community college level.

All course work and degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university.

Barstow Community College District recognizes that candidates may attain expertise in a discipline through various means. Certain combinations of education, experience, and other accomplishments may be judged as equal to the stated minimum qualifications. Candidates who feel they possess such equivalent qualifications are encouraged to apply and provide documentation.
