Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary
  • PAYE: £28.15 per hour
  • Umbrella: £36.88 per hour

Are you an experienced Children’s Social Worker passionate about supporting young people as they transition into adulthood? Network Recruitment Wales is recruiting a Social Worker to join the Fourteen Plus Team within the Vale of Glamorgan Children & Young People’s Services
. This temporary role is to cover a vacancy pending permanent recruitment and offers the opportunity to join a highly stable, well-bonded, and supportive team.

About the Team

The Fourteen Plus Team works with:

  • Looked After Children aged 14 and over
  • Homeless young people aged 16–18
  • Care leavers up to the age of 25
What You’ll Do
  • Work directly with children, young people, and their families/carers across all aspects of statutory social work.
  • Complete pathway planning
    , assessments, and reviews to support young people towards independence.
  • Undertake court work and prepare high-quality reports as required.
  • Manage a caseload of complex cases, ensuring safeguarding and statutory responsibilities are met.
  • Build effective relationships with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for young people.
  • Carry out visits across the Vale of Glamorgan and beyond, working from the Barry base.
What We’re Looking For
  • A qualified and experienced Social Worker with relevant experience in children’s services, particularly with adolescents and care leavers.
  • Registration with Social Care Wales (essential).
  • Strong knowledge of legislation, safeguarding, and best practice in children’s social care.
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
  • Flexibility to meet service demands.
Essential Requirements
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • Social Care Wales registration

  • Signed Confidentiality Agreement
    .
  • 3 years of references/work history.
