Position: National Account Manager (Grocery/Retail)

The Role:

Reporting to the Head of UK & ROI, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of UK retail accounts, developing and optimising business performance inline with the company’s commercial strategy. This is a high-impact role within a fast-growing international FMCG business, offering strong exposure to major UK retailers and significant autonomy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary commercial contact for your portfolio of national retail accounts, working closely with the company’s local importer/distribution partner.
  • Drive the deployment and growth of branded and private label products within the UK retail market.
  • Negotiate national agreements inline with company sales policies and profitability targets.
  • Deliver againstagreedobjectivesincluding:
    Distribution and assortment, Promotional activity, Merchandising execution, & Volume and revenue targets.
  • Proactively recommend corrective actions where required to ensure performance delivery.
  • Manage and monitor promotional budgets to maximise ROI.
  • Conduct regular brand and account reviews, identifying growth levers and new opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends, category developments, and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
Profile&

Experience:
  • Degree-level qualification in Business or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a UK FMCG retail-facing role (head office and/or field-based) with direct experience with Top 4 retail/grocery accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK retail landscape is essential.
  • Proven experience managing national retail accounts.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and commercial planning skills.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and results-driven.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).
  • French language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
