Recycling Officer – Temporary Contract (Up to 12 Months)

About the Role

Bridgestone Group are recruiting a committed and community‑focused Recycling Officer to support a local authority waste and recycling service. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about sustainability and improving recycling behaviours within local communities.

You will be part of a team dedicated to increasing recycling participation, supporting waste minimisation projects, and delivering educational initiatives to residents and community groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate waste minimisation programmes to promote recycling, repair and reuse.
  • Be the first point of contact for residents, providing advice on home recycling through doorstep visits.
  • Support the rollout of new recycling and waste collection services, ensuring households receive the correct containers.
  • Deliver educational talks and presentations to schools, community organisations and community groups.
  • Attend roadshows, events and community sites to promote recycling and support public engagement.

Shift: Monday to Friday- 37 hours per week

Salary: £15.81 per hour

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Confident engaging with residents and community groups.
  • Passionate about environmental improvement and sustainability.
  • Well‑organised, proactive and able to manage a varied workload.
  • Able to work independently and within a team.
  • Professional, approachable and community‑focused.

A full UK driving licence is essential due to travel between locations and attendance at events.
