Senior Financial Accountant

Kettering (Hybrid/Office-Based)

Hours - Full Time Monday to Friday

£60,000 – £65,000 + Bonus

An established and growing business based in Kettering is looking to appoint a Senior Financial Accountant to join its UK finance function. This is a key role reporting directly to the Group CFO, offering real ownership, visibility, and influence across the business.

You’ll play a central part in ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting for the UK and Group, while overseeing technical accounting areas such as VAT, tax, payroll, and system controls. This role would suit someone who enjoys getting into the detail but also wants to contribute commercially and strategically.

• Deliver accurate, high-quality financial results on time
• Review and challenge financial data, strengthening controls and processes
• Produce balance sheet analysis and insightful reporting
• Maintain accurate cash-flow forecasting
• Own accounting system administration (Sage 200; prior Sage 50)
• Prepare UK VAT returns and P11
  
  Ds, ensuring full compliance
• Control bank authorisations and weekly/monthly payment runs
• Complete FX and investment revaluations
• Oversee payroll processing for c.30 employees
• Produce weekly and monthly dashboard reports
• Act as a key contact for external auditors
• Collaborate with the US finance team
• Provide cover for finance colleagues when required
• Support and develop the Finance Assistant (PL/SL)

• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA)
• Strong management accounts experience
• Proven Sage 200 experience (essential)
• Sage Payroll experience desirable
• Confident with statutory accounts and tax matters
• Strong Excel and Word skills
• Clear communicator with a commercial mindset
• Well‑organised, proactive, and deadline‑driven
