Engineering & Design Graduate Programme

RSK Group is seeking talented and ambitious individuals to join our bEngineering & Design Graduate Programme starting on 17th September 2026 for an 18‑month fixed‑term basis
. Primary business locations include Birmingham, Greater Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol and London.

During the 18‑month programme you will start with a comprehensive induction, learn about the culture at RSK and gain an understanding of the businesses within the group. Following the induction, you will be placed with two RSK businesses, spending nine months with each business, to gain a broad and holistic understanding of the industry. You will work alongside a range of industry professionals, giving you the opportunity to develop your skills and discover what you are passionate about.

During the rotational placements you will receive comprehensive technical training, as well as a structured group training programme to develop your soft skills for professional career development. You will be paired with a buddy to support you when you join, and there will be plenty of networking opportunities during your time on the scheme.

This programme offers graduates the opportunity to work on multidisciplinary projects within infrastructure, water, energy, and the natural and built environment. The placements may offer a mix of site and office working, and given the nature of work, flexibility is essential as business requirements will vary. Daily activity could include:

• Producing design calculations for building structures in all common materials
• Becoming proficient in the use of various analysis/design software packages
• Develop a working knowledge of the design standards and codes of practice relevant to different construction materials
• Shadow industry professionals to assess and inspect on site
• Write technical reports and present to clients
• Gain expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks by proactively identifying potential threats and analysing their potential impact on project objectives
• Learn how to produce outputs and drawings to support outline and detailed design
• Understand health and safety requirements, including conducting risk assessments

Locations across the UK include (but are not limited to):
Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bristol, London.

Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Construction Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Fire Engineering.

During your placements you will attend training away days, develop your transferable skills—including essential communication skills, commercial awareness, and career development workshops. Your placement will deliver on‑job technical learning, and you will be guided by your line manager along with your mentor and support from the early careers team. Throughout the placements you will be expected to contribute to supporting the business and deliver high‑impact results.

You will be assessed on your performance and receive regular feedback. By the end of the scheme, we expect you will have a clear idea of where you would like to work and, subject to performance, we will support you in finding an internal opportunity within RSK Group.

• Relevant degree related to the graduate programme (min grade 2:1)
• Willingness to travel to different locations or relocate if necessary
• Passion and enthusiasm with an eagerness to learn new skills
