Looking to make the move into Project Management?
We are recruiting for an Associate Project Manager – you’ll be working on our Pentir to Trawsfynydd reinforcement projects. The projects are in their later stages of development moving into construction in Summer 2026. The Associate EPC Project Manager role is an excellent stepping stone into project management. You’ll support the Lead Project Manager/Project Manager and be involved in all phases of the project lifecycle, from the development of designs through to construction, delivery and commissioning.
As you do this, you’ll have the development opportunity and support to develop into a Project Manager yourself.
This role will require you to be on site in North Wales 5 days a week.
About You- Experience supporting delivery of medium and complex construction/engineering projects working closely with Project Managers to deliver key outputs, ideally within the Electricity transmission industry or other large utilities.
- Knowledge of CDM and other relevant health, safety and environmental regulations consistently ensuring compliance.
- Understands project performance management, including financial controls, earned value principles, forecasting, and benefits realisation, through contribution to accurate cost estimation, development and maintenance of integrated project schedules, and management of risk, opportunity and issues in a controlled environment.
- Has commercial awareness including working with NEC and FIDIC contracts.
- Can support projects through organisational governance & change management while communicating effectively with stakeholders and driving continuous improvement through lessons learnt.

- Full UK Driving Licence.
- NEBOSH / IOSH.
- Experience supporting delivery in a medium/complex project environment, coordinating deliverables and milestones, and working through governance and change control.
- Practical exposure to cost, schedule, risk and reporting fundamentals (including understanding performance targets, project financials, and project performance reporting concepts).
- Demonstrable ability to manage multiple interfaces and collaborate with suppliers/contractors and cross‑functional teams.
- Understanding of NEC contract management expectations (clear/timely communications; supporting reply periods; structured notices).
- Awareness of NEC contract administration areas such as programme acceptance and compensation events (supporting the PM with well‑kept records and analysis).
- Understanding of SHEQ expectations in a construction setting; familiarity with safety management requirements and working practices typical of complex projects (e.g., permit systems and site safety expectations where applicable).
A competitive salary up to £55,000 – dependent on capability. As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. This role will also attract a company vehicle subject to the mileage covered in the role.
This role is based in North Wales with the need to be on site 5 days a week. It involves regular travel to office locations and project delivery sites/substations, primarily within the region surrounding your contractual base location. Occasional nationwide travel may also be required, depending on project demands. Flexibility and willingness to travel are also essential.
