Position: Electrical Apprentice (Cement)

Electrical Apprentice (Cement)

Join Tarmac as an Electrical Apprentice and kickstart a career that’s wired for success! We are currently seeking an Electrical Apprentice to join our Cement and Packed Products Team at Aberthaw Cement Plant.

As part of the Cement & Packed division of Tarmac you will play an important role in keeping UK infrastructure moving, contributing towards the successful production of cementitious products. An exciting role where you can see the outputs of your hard work all around you (quite literally!).

What you'll be doing
  • Attending college to study the academic and practical elements of the role.
  • Gaining hands‑on experience on site, participating in breakdowns and planned maintenance work on the equipment and assets at our cement plant.
  • Helping with electrical installations, inspections, and repairs.
  • Diagnosing faults and managing breakdowns.
  • Supporting new system setups to improve productivity.
  • Keeping your workspace clean and safe.
  • Learning how to spot hazards and follow safety rules.
  • Working inside and outside, sometimes in dusty or confined environments. Full protective clothing is provided. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Qualification:

Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician (MOET). You will attend college as part of the program.

What we’re looking for Essential
  • 5 GCSEs, including English, Maths and Science at Grade 4 or above.
  • A practical and technical aptitude, and the ability to demonstrate a genuine interest in engineering, technology or science.
  • Ability to travel to college.

  • Strong commitment to working safely and responsibly – safety is at the heart of everything we do.
  • True team player with great communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to learn, grow and take on new challenges.
