Machinist or Trainee Machinist

Full time, permanent position as a Wood Machinist.

£16.63 - £17.85 per hour

6.00am - 2.00pm; 2.00pm - 10.00pm and 10.00pm - 6.00am rotating shift pattern NO WEEKENDS

To be able to set and run the line Moulder, Beamsaw and handling equipment to schedule from drawings issued. Liaising with Painter and utilising the Production Operatives to assist in these duties and signing off their work. Having knowledge of the whole line process being the first responder to problem solving both in their area and the Painters and production operator.

Overall responsibility of the finished Product, ensuing production quality checks and processing information are carried out and correct.

• To set Beamsaw, Moulder and handling to schedule and drawings issued.
• Knowledge and understanding and able to use paint line equipment, Vacuum coater, Sander Faldder, Ovens, able to offer support knowledge support to Painter.
• Production quality check and processing information
• Ensuring the overall end product ie the required standard and correct data.
• Ensuring your teamwork within company Health and Safety policy, reporting of any hazards
• Setting of Beamsaw to works schedule. A fully automated programme using Holzma Cadmatic program
• The upkeep of the Maintenance schedule set out by the Cadmatic program
• Daily cleaning of the Beamsaw from production
• Removal of Beamsaw offcuts
• Setting & operation of the Weinig infeed and outfeed accelerator units
• Setting of Moulder to works schedule using the Weinig Powercom system
• Upkeep of the Weinig Powercom maintenance schedule
• Daily cleaning of the moulder
• Check the quality of machined product, ensuring a best finish and to the works drawing
• Overall product finished quality and package data
• Utilising the wrapping operative to set the Weinig outfeed HMI and bundling system to the works schedule. Oversee it is done correctly and signing off
• Trouble shooting of Beamsaw, moulder and all Weinig handling equipment
• The above list of duties is not exhaustive, and you may be required to undertake any other duties as and when required by Management.

• Basic Numeracy and English
• In house training of operation of woodworking machinery
• Operational knowledge of the line to the same level of the Arbor Edge Supervisor.

Other duties and responsibilities expressed and implied which arise from the nature and character of the post within the department.

During busy periods overtime may be required to service machinery and to support with holiday or sickness cover.

During the busy periods of the year, it may be necessary to change working hours to ensure that duties are effectively performed, this includes working alternative shift patterns to include operating a night shift.
