Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer (Nights)
Join wienerberger as a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer at our Goxhill site in North Lincolnshire. The role involves fully trained hands‑on work with specialised tools and machinery to produce high‑quality building products.
About the RoleAs a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer you will:
- Operate factory machinery, equipment and forklifts while ensuring high levels of health and safety.
- Carry out essential maintenance through a programme of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
- Assist in developing the agility maintenance system and attend breakdowns.
- Ensure machine safety standards are kept to the highest level and maintain critical spares.
- Install and maintain electrical and electro‑mechanical plant machinery.
- Improve factory OEE through development and innovation of the production facility.
- Operate a preventative electrical maintenance system and programme Siemens/other PLC equipment.
- Use testing equipment to locate and remedy faults.
- Promote Lean thinking and actively look for ways to improve efficiencies.
- Contribute to the creation and review of Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe System of Work (SSOW).
- Ensure adherence to wienerberger’s quality system and standards in accordance with BS EN ISO 9001.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 6:00 pm to 6:00 am (nights). Thursday: 6:00 pm to 1:00 am.
About You- Preferably apprentice trained with a minimum Level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline; provide copies of relevant qualifications.
- Qualifications:
ONC/BTEC, HNC/BTEC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering; 17th/18th edition qualified. - Sound knowledge of Siemens PLCs – S7 TIA portal.
- Time‑served electrician with experience in a manufacturing environment (heavy manufacturing such as clay, refractory, quarrying, cement or FMCG).
- Team player with strong communication skills.
- Good exposure to health & safety standards.
- Excellent analytical, fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
- Good working knowledge of EHS.
- Passion for improvement with knowledge of Lean manufacturing.
- Knowledge of electric motors, pneumatics and sound mechanical skills.
- Salary up to £44,992 (inclusive of allowances/bonuses).
