This is a 12-month undergraduate placement for students who want hands-on exposure to large-scale, real-world engineering projects — from early design through to build, testing and commissioning.
You’ll join a major UK engineering organisation operating at the cutting edge of naval and marine systems
, gaining experience that goes far beyond a typical office-based placement.
- Currently studying a Bachelor’s degree (any discipline considered)
- On track for a minimum 2:2
- Available to complete a 12-month placement
- Strong interest in engineering, technology or applied problem-solving
- Willingness to learn, ask questions and take responsibility
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Some roles are subject to security and export control restrictions
- Nationality or place of birth may impact eligibility for certain projects
As an Undergraduate Engineering Placement Student
, you’ll gain broad exposure across a full engineering lifecycle within a specialist “whole-boat” engineering discipline.
Your experience may include:
- Supporting design and manufacturing activities
- Simulation and modelling using specialist software
- Exposure to build, launch, test and commissioning phases
- Working alongside experienced engineers on live projects
