Technical Data Pack  Manager

Location:

Barrow-in-Furness or Sheffield or Filton. Travel will be required within the UK.

Salary:  £60,000+ (depending on experience)

What you’ll be doing :

Oversee CAD and Product Data configuration across engineering programmes, aiming to align and standardise ways of working where possible and acting as the interface between the programmes and engineering function

Lead  and  manage  a team of Technical Data Pack (TDP) Team  Leads , overseeing TDP resource and tasks, assigning packages of work to  individuals  and support their development

Accountable for the creation and  management  of Product variants, BOM structure approach and drawing templates in accordance with business process and applicable contractual standards

Support the creation and modification of applicable TDP business  management  system (BMS) processes and best practice guidance (BPG’s)

Support configuration changes and product data transfer requirements between WSUK’s Computer Aided Design, Product Lifecycle  Management  and Enterprise Resource Planning systems.

Support engineering operational excellence programmes and contribute to the delivery of the WSUK Engineering Strategy through TDP activities

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

This position requires a willingness to travel within the UK to BAE Systems sites, including Barrow-in-Furness

Expertise  in engineering and quality standards (e.g. BS 8888) and previous experience in 3D modelling, assembling, 2D drawing and Design for Manufacture

Expertise  in configuration  management  and revision  control , with an understanding of product data transfer between CAD, PLM and ERP systems

Experience  managing  teams and teams of teams to deliver TDP solutions across multiple engineering programmes

Desirable:

Familiarity with specific CAD (ideally Creo Parametric), PLM tools (ideally Teamcenter) and data transfer requirements to ERP systems (ideally SAP)

Experience in process improvement and optimisation
