Mechanical Designer​/Technician

Overview

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Senior Designer - Mechanical with a background in the nuclear or defence sector to be engaged on a permanent basis in Barrow.

• You will be producing 3D models of either Pipe routes, HVAC systems or mechanical compartment arrangements using the CAD toolset.
• Your responsibilities will also include producing 2D drawings and electronic data and BoM item development to a fast-paced schedule to support manufacturing, installation, and testing of our products.
• Develop and maintain close working relationships with other Design team members and Stakeholders who are working towards the same common goal.
• Working as a team to produce an Integrated Design that meets our client s expectations and agreed set of requirements.

• Understanding of CAD toolsets and techniques e.g. Foran, Solidworks and Siemens NX etc. in both 2D (Diagrams) and 3D outputs (drawings and models).
• Understanding of mechanical routed systems at both 2D and 3D level in either piping or HVAC design.
• Experience in Mechanical Compartment Integration / Room Integration and or Engineering Standards at Component / Equipment level.
• HNC / ONC level or degree qualification in relevant STEM subject or equivalent work experience.
