Principal Radiation Physicist

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Principal Radiation Physicist to be engaged on a permanent basis in Barrow-in-Furness.

• Supervising and conducting analysis and experiments to support system qualification
• Supporting progression of design optimisation
• Producing and reviewing radiological safety justifications for proposed design solutions
• Direct development of in-house toolsets in support of the department goals
• Leading detailed Hawksi design, balancing build requirements alongside system performance requirements

Essential:

• Relevant STEM degree in Physics/Mathematics/Chemistry/Nuclear Engineering
• Demonstrable experience of radiation transport codes such as MCNP/MCBSYM/Attilla
• Understanding of CAS radiation physics
• Experience of radiation safety studies & behaviours
• Experience of radiation metrology
• Knowledge of the ALARP principle

Desirable:

• Experience of managing technical projects
