Job Summary

Duke Street Surgery are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and committed Salaried GP with a view to partnership to join our successful and well-respected training practice, offering flexible sessions and competitive sessional rates.

• Face-to-face and telephone consultations.
• Reviewing and issuing repeat prescriptions and supporting the Prescribing Team with medicine queries.
• Independent decision making.
• Prescribing in line with practice, local and national guidance.
• Collaborative working across multidisciplinary teams.
• Home visits (when required).
• Accurate record keeping.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions.
• Prescribe and manage treatment plans.
• Coordinate with specialist and community teams.
• Promote screening and preventative care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Participate in quality improvement projects and audits.
• Assess the health care needs of patients with undiagnosed problems.
• Develop care plans in line with current practice disease‑management protocols.
• Provide counselling and health education.
• Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes.
• Collect data for audit purposes.
• Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
• Prescribe in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary when clinically appropriate.
• Undertake all normal GP duties in primary care.

With a list size of over 11,500 patients, we are a large, high‑achieving practice with consistently excellent QOF results. We are based in south Cumbria, just 30 minutes' drive from Lake Windermere. We have a supportive multidisciplinary team of 7 GPs, 2 ANP, 4 Practice Nurses, 4 Health Care Assistants and a superb administration team. We are part of a strong Primary Care Network with links to community teams such as Health Visitors, Safeguarding Teams, Macmillan Nurses and Case Management.

• Full qualified GP with GMC registration.
