Truck and Coach Technician

Express Truck Center is seeking an experienced Truck and Coach Technician to join our team in Barrie. The successful candidate will diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial transport trucks and truck-trailer systems while ensuring work meets manufacturer specifications and safety standards.

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair commercial transport truck systems and components

• Adjust, repair, or replace parts on truck, trailer, and automotive systems

• Perform scheduled maintenance services

• Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer specifications

• Road test vehicles and inspect motors in operation

• Review work orders and estimate parts and labour costs

• Complete reports detailing work performed and issues identified

• Communicate with supervisors regarding repair decisions

• Provide customer service and advice on future maintenance needs

• Coach and support apprentices when required

• Other trades certificate or diploma

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a truck and coach technician or similar role

• Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification

• Valid driver’s licence with ability to drive manual transmission vehicles

• Air Brake (Z) endorsement

• WHMIS and First Aid certification

• Own tools and steel-toed safety boots

• Diesel engine repair and diagnostics

• Electrical and electronic systems

• Brake, steering, suspension, and hydraulic systems

• Fuel and emission systems

• Automatic and standard transmissions

• Drive train and front-end components

• Truck-trailer repair and maintenance

• Dusty, noisy, and physically demanding environment

• Fast-paced shop setting

• Standing for extended periods and manual dexterity required
