Matthews House Hospice Foundation – Alliston, Ontario

Are you passionate about compassionate care and community support? Matthews House Hospice Foundation is seeking dedicated and visionary individuals to join our Board of Directors. This is a unique opportunity to help ensure the long-term viability of hospice care in South Simcoe and ensure that every person facing end-of-life challenges receives dignity, comfort, and care through all stages of their illness journey, as well as their family members.

About Us

Matthews House Hospice Foundation supports the mission of Matthews House Hospice by raising funds to provide exceptional palliative care, grief and bereavement support, and wellness programs. We are a community-driven organization committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families during their most vulnerable moments.

Role Overview

As a member of the Board of Directors, you will play acritical role in guiding the strategic direction of the Foundation, ensuring financial sustainability, and championing our values in the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight and governance for the Foundation
  • Support fundraising initiatives and donor engagement
  • Act as an ambassador for Matthews House Hospice and Matthews House Hospice Foundation in the community
  • Attend regular board meetings
  • Ensure alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the organization
  • Contribute to long-term planning and organizational growth

Ideal Candidate

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and experiences. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • A passion for hospice care and community service
  • Experience in philanthropy, finance, law, healthcare, marketing, or nonprofit governance
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
  • A commitment to active participation and advocacy

Time Commitment

  • Approximately2-4 hours per month
  • Attendance at 4 board meetings yearly (in-person or virtual)
  • Participation in events and committee work as needed
