We have an immediate need for a Supervisor to join our Thin Film team. In this role, you will play a key part in assisting the Sr. Supervisor, Thin Film in the day to day activities of the department. The Supervisor will support Raytheon ELCAN CORE methodologies and Operating systems (KPI’s);
People, Safety, Quality, Schedule and Cost. The Supervisor will be required to have a level of technical competency to apply a required percentage of touch labour on a daily basis. The Supervisor will have performance management as well as employee development responsibilities. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with skilled professionals, leverage advanced technologies, and contribute to the success of Raytheon ELCAN.

Primary Responsibilities:

People, Safety, Quality, Schedule and CostEvaluate and identify unique ways to improve the organization (cost reductions, use of resources, policies/procedures, products); generating useful new ideas, approaches or techniquesReport to Thin Film Department Senior SupervisorWork with Senior Supervisor to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments and to create solutions to complex problemsEnsuring that the floor has adequate tools and machinery, product, chemicals, work instructions, etc. for smooth consistent operationInitiate quality investigation when appropriateEnsure that standard operating procedures and processes are adhered toAssists with maintaining a structured work environment that benefits both the employees and customers, ensuring efficiency and productivity.Ensure that the Occupational Health and Safety Act is being followed by all team membersPractical application of the CORE continuous improvement processPlanning and coordinating of resources and activities within the team and other departments as requiredPerformance management as well as employee development responsibilitiesLead and motivate a team of individualsCoaching and Mentoring of Group Leads as neededCoach the team to remain motivated even when faced with inevitable delays, setbacks and policy shiftsProvide feedback to Senior Supervisor regarding the performance of group membersQualifications &
Experience:
Completion of Post-Secondary in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Manufacturing) or 5-10 years’ work experience equivalent in Thin FilmPrevious supervisory or equivalent leadership experience is considered an asset.Prior working responsibility for the safety, quality, schedule and cost in an AS9100 factory environmentStrong leadership and motivational skillsHighly effective communication skills, with all levels of the organizationProven ability to solve technical problems and make sound decisionsWillingness to learn and acquire knowledge/understanding through study, instruction or experienceMust have an intermediate knowledge of computer systems and Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Proficiency in reading and interpreting company policies and proceduresCandidate must be able to show evidence of self-motivation and possess an excellent work ethicExhibits strong ability to follow rules / regulations; including Environmental, Health, & Safety, and Raytheon ELCAN policiesProven experience and knowledge of CORE principles, production systems and team member roles and responsibilitiesDemonstrated core professional values of respect, trust, and team collaborationPractical application experience in CORE continuous improvement processStrong understanding and knowledge of supervisory responsibilities within the Occupational Health & Safety ActAcquiring and retaining…
