Position Summary
Responsible to the Manager/Quality Leader, Laboratory Services through the Charge Technologists, the Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) will perform all laboratory testing and diagnostic procedures in your designated department.
Procedures necessary for weekends, evening, and nights must be mastered in all other departments (i.e. – Bacteriology, Histology). Working hours include a rotation schedule covering day, evening, night shift, weekend and statutory holidays, including 8 and 12 hour shifts.
Qualifications
• Initial certification in Medical Laboratory Technology by the Canadian Society of Medical
Laboratory Science (CSMLS) is required.
• Current Registration with the CMLTO is required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience considered an asset. Recent graduates are welcome
to apply.
• Satisfactory work performance and attendance record required.
• The successful candidate will have a proven commitment to professional development as
well as to the Mission and Vision of the Hospital. Demonstrates proficiency in written and
verbal communications skills in relation to working with patients across the care continuum.
