The Opportunity:
The Financial Analyst, reporting to the Manager of Finance and Procurement, plays a key role in supporting the hospital’s financial operations and strategic objectives. This position is responsible for facilitating the annual budget cycle, preparing accurate financial, statistical, and performance reports, completing month-end processes and financial statements, and ensuring timely Ministry of Health (MOH) reporting. The Financial Analyst also champions the development and implementation of innovative monitoring tools to enhance financial oversight.
This role interacts with various levels of leadership and external stakeholders to communicate financial goals, strengthen internal controls, identify risks and mitigation strategies, and provide insightful recommendations that support the organization in achieving operational excellence and pursuing new opportunities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) designation required.
Minimum 2-3 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, ideally within the Ontario healthcare or broader public sector.
Experience working in a hospital, LHIN, or health authority is a strong asset.
Familiarity with Ontario Health funding models, provincial reporting (MIS/OHRS), and ministry submissions.
