Our client in the Midland area, is seeking a Project Engineer to join their team.
This is a high-impact role within the Engineering group, where you will serve as the strategic focal point for technical project execution — ensuring programs are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. If you bring strong engineering expertise combined with solid project management capability, this opportunity offers both technical depth and leadership influence.

- Lead cross-functional teams in the design, development, and testing of new products
- Ensure design integrity throughout the full development lifecycle
- Serve as the primary technical contact for internal and external stakeholders
- Develop detailed project plans covering scope, schedule, budget, risk, and resources
- Monitor execution through action tracking, status reporting, and performance metrics
- Direct matrixed team members on complex technical initiatives
- Identify project risks and proactively implement solutions
- Present project updates and reports to senior leadership
- Integrate Lean practices where appropriate to enhance execution efficiency
- Collaborate closely with Program Management, Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering leadership teams
- Degree in STEM (Engineering, Science, Technology, Mathematics) with 5+ years of relevant experience
- OR technical diploma with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Strong mechanical and/or optical engineering background preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace/defense sector experience considered an asset)
- Solid understanding of project management principles including risk management and scheduling
- Advanced MS Office skills, including MS Project (strong Excel skills highly valued)
- Familiarity with military or industry standards related to optical-mechanical systems is an asset
- Proven ability to lead within a matrixed, cross-functional environment
- Strong communication, collaboration, and proactive problem-solving skills
