Manufacturing Project Engineer

Our client in the Midland area, is seeking a Project Engineer to join their team.

This is a high-impact role within the Engineering group, where you will serve as the strategic focal point for technical project execution — ensuring programs are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. • Lead cross-functional teams in the design, development, and testing of new products
• Ensure design integrity throughout the full development lifecycle
• Serve as the primary technical contact for internal and external stakeholders
• Develop detailed project plans covering scope, schedule, budget, risk, and resources
• Monitor execution through action tracking, status reporting, and performance metrics
• Direct matrixed team members on complex technical initiatives
• Identify project risks and proactively implement solutions
• Present project updates and reports to senior leadership
• Integrate Lean practices where appropriate to enhance execution efficiency
• Collaborate closely with Program Management, Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering leadership teams

• Degree in STEM (Engineering, Science, Technology, Mathematics) with 5+ years of relevant experience
• OR technical diploma with 5+ years of relevant experience
• Strong mechanical and/or optical engineering background preferred
• Experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace/defense sector experience considered an asset)
• Solid understanding of project management principles including risk management and scheduling
• Advanced MS Office skills, including MS Project (strong Excel skills highly valued)
• Familiarity with military or industry standards related to optical-mechanical systems is an asset
• Proven ability to lead within a matrixed, cross-functional environment
• Strong communication, collaboration, and proactive problem-solving skills
