Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist the Simcoe County Museum's Education staff in conducting school programming in May and June.
  • Assist the Simcoe County Museum's Education staff in the daily operation of the Summer Day Camp.
  • Support our mandate of preserving and interpreting County history.
  • Support our Museum mission of providing high quality service to local community and visiting tourists.
  • Provide a quality day camp experience for children.
  • Promote the Simcoe County Museum and our programs by attending and supporting local community events and attending out of area events.
  • Interest and train youth in the Museum field.
  • Develop programming, research, create props, prepare material and organize activities for the camps.
  • Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be a registered full-time post‑secondary student during the preceding academic year and be returning to school on a full‑time basis in the next academic year.
  • Experience working with children would be considered an asset.
  • Experience working within a Museum environment would be considered an asset.
  • Driver's License with access to a vehicle.
  • History/Social Science background would be an asset.
  • Computer literacy in MS Word and Excel would be an asset.
  • Must be willing to wear historic costumes.
  • Be able to work some weekends, as necessary.
  • Criminal Records Check with that is less than six (6) months old at time of hire required
