PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST – PUBLIC SECTOR (2-MONTH CONTRACT)

$80k – $90k (Pro-rata)

On-site (4 days per week, Barrie)

Our client, a leading public sector organization in Barrie, is recruiting for a Procurement Specialist for an immediate 2-month contract. This is a hands‑on role focused on executing a range of sourcing activities in strict alignment with the Broader Public Sector (BPS) Procurement Directive.

Based in the Barrie office 4 days per week, you will manage a variety of categories to ensure compliance and value for money during a peak period of procurement activity.

• Manage the end‑to‑end procurement process for a variety of goods and services, ensuring 100% adherence to the BPS Procurement Directive and internal policies.
• Lead the development of RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs, overseeing the evaluation process and award recommendations across multiple categories.
• Finalize contract terms and manage vendor relationships to ensure high‑quality delivery and compliance with public sector standards.
• Partner closely with internal departments in Barrie to understand requirements and translate them into compliant procurement documents.

• You have a solid understanding of the BPS Procurement Directive and experience working within a public sector or broader public sector environment.
• Proven ability to jump into a hands‑on role and manage deals across diverse categories with minimal ramp‑up time.
• You are located in or near Barrie and are fully comfortable with a 4‑day‑per‑week in‑office schedule for the duration of the contract.
• As this is a 2‑month surge requirement, you must be available to start quickly.
