Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Assisting with office procedures including reception, clerical, and administrative support within the Department.
- Provides key role in customer service responding to inquiries or requests from staff, service providers and the general public.
- Receives incoming telephone calls, direct messages and visitors providing information and/or assistance and directs them as appropriate.
- Order and receive medical supplies, equipment and office supplies as required.
- Receive requested station inventory orders and pick required items for each Paramedic base.
- Deliver station inventory orders to each base throughout the County on a weekly basis.
- Optimize stations and main inventory stockrooms, workflow and layouts.
- Rotate supplies that have expiry dates to maximize lifecycle management and reduce spoilage
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with sometimes little notice for requested emergency medical supplies and equipment.
- Collect information and prepare required reports.
- Provide clerical and administrative support for the Department as delegated, including, filing, word processing, data entry.
- Ability to work safely with the proper use of P.P.E. for the purpose of cleaning and reprocessing medical equipment.
- Comply with provincial and county occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be a registered full-time post-secondary student during the preceding academic year and be returning to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year.
- Word processing, spreadsheet and database application skills preferred.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Varied office experience an asset.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Administrative experience would be an asset
- Criminal Records Check with that is less than six (6) months old at time of hire required
