Position: Clinical Nurse Specialist (Dementia)

We are looking for an exceptional, registered (adult /mental health/learning disability) nurse have a minimum of 2 years post registration experience in the acute setting, with a passion for delivering person- and relationship-centred dementia care, and impressive knowledge and skills in working holistically and therapeutically with people with dementia and their carers/families.

As part of an exciting new service development, North Devon District Hospital is expanding its Admiral Nursing service, which supports families affected by dementia with complex needs during their acute stay and across care transitions. The established and successful service is delivered in collaboration with the charity, Dementia UK.

As an Admiral Nurse, you will support, deliver and coordinate relationship-centred dementia care, working directly with people with dementia and their families, as well as supporting the best practice of health and social care professionals.

Employed by North Devon District Hospital, the Band 6 Admiral Nurse will work under the supervision of the Admiral Nurse Clinical Lead, and will be supported by Dementia UK to maintain and strengthen their clinical development as a specialist Admiral Nurse through regular clinical supervision and practice and professional development opportunities. The successful post holder will become a welcome part of a wider network of Admiral Nurses, and will have the opportunity to access relevant post-graduate training and develop professionally, informed by the Admiral Nurse Competency Framework.

Working Pattern:26.5 hours per week.

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2026-7 rates, inclusive of a 3.3% pay award implemented from April 2026. If you join before this date,, remuneration will be based on the 2025-6 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2025/26 | NHS Employers )
