Radiographer

To work as part of the Northern Radiography team as a qualified radiographer. To perform a range of radiographic imaging procedures, within the department, on the wards and in theatre.

To work within the boundaries of existing competence, adhering to the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposures) Regulations 2024 at all times as well as local procedures and protocols relating to radiation procedures, staff and patient safety.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the Radiology Team as a Diagnostic Radiographer. Ensure high quality patient care maintaining patient flow and supporting the day to day running of the department whilst maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

To undertake their duties and contribute to the holistic care of patients as part of a multi‑disciplinary team and be responsible for delivering effective, specialised, high quality care and carrying out specific clinical tasks, ensuring the area of work runs smoothly and efficiently. To have excellent communication skills that foster good working relationships both within and external to the department.

Our fully digital department includes 6 X‑Ray rooms and 1 community hospital. These are all recently refurbished with the state of the art GE equipment. We also have 2 fluoroscopy/interventional rooms, dental, DEXA and 2 CT scanners. We have 3 image intensifiers which support a range of surgical procedures. The radiology service also provides a full range of Ultrasound, Mammography and MRI scanning services.

A comprehensive preceptorship programme will be given to all employees, which is mentored by our departmental Clinical Practice Facilitator.

Ability to participate in 24 hour working patterns is essential as the department operates a full out of hours shift system.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week. Permanent Contract. To be worked seven days a week and being able to participate in the out of hours rota is essential.
