Job Responsibilities

Plan and carry out food safety inspections in line with statutory requirements

Ensure food businesses comply with relevant food safety legislation

Record inspection findings accurately and maintain clear documentation

Provide professional advice and guidance to food business operators

Work in line with council policies and regulatory standards

Support service delivery within agreed timescales

Person Specification

Must-Have Requirements

Eligibility to work in the UK

Relevant qualifications, licences, or registrations legally required to carry out food inspections

Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines

Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills

Clear and professional communication skills

Nice-to-Have Requirements

Previous experience carrying out food safety inspections

Experience working within a local authority or public sector environment

Familiarity with food safety legislation and enforcement procedures
