About your new Workshop Controller role

Ready to step up and run a busy workshop? We’re looking for a hands-on Workshop Controller with strong technical ability and natural leadership to take charge of day-to-day operations in a fast-paced municipal fleet environment.

Life Assurance and Personal Accident Cover The successful Workshop Controller will require
Lead from the front as the senior technician while controlling daily workshop activity
Plan workloads, schedule servicing and MOTs, and keep vehicles on the road
Diagnose, maintain and repair a mixed fleet of light and heavy vehicles
Control job cards, paperwork, parts ordering and stock levels
Provide technical support to the team and maintain high quality standards
Liaise confidently with colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders
Manage rotas, holidays and standby cover to ensure full workshop coverage

The successful Workshop Controller will receive
Proven experience in an HGV or municipal workshop environment
Strong people management and organisational skills
Confident with diagnostics, fleet maintenance and compliance
Comfortable using vehicle management systems and completing accurate paperwork
HGV Category C licence preferred
Apprenticeship, HNC or equivalent in automotive engineering (CPC an advantage)
