Quality Assurance Inspector

Position: Quality Assurance Inspector (Permanent)
Our client is a well-established and successful manufacturer, they are looking for a Quality Inspector to join their team. You should have experience in Manufacturing Inspection, and the ability to audit control systems for quality assurance.

Shift pattern:
Panama shift, 12 hours, Days and Nights (3 nights, 2 off, 2 nights, 3 off, 2 nights, 2 off, 3 days, 2 off, 2 days, 3 off, 2 days, 2 off (then repeat)

Salary: £35,000

* Previous experience in a quality role in a manufacturing environment, with previous use of measuring tools etc.

* Have an eye for detail and be driven to support and help improve manufacturing efficiency.

* Ability to work independently and take decisions.

* Experience with Microsoft Office applications.

* Current FLT licence is desirable.

* Previous polymer moulding/extruding experience would be an advantage.

Responsibilities:

The role is to ensure that products are provided with a high level of quality that meets the customers’ expectations. You will work to ensure products meet established standards and specifications, existing procedures and processes within their system are respected and implemented as written and collaborate with team members to build new quality controls, tests, and coordinate procedures to address any deficiencies.

You will also be responsible for supporting the QA manager in external audits.

* Provide support to the shift supervisor to ensure that all product made complies with specifications and inspection is conducted in line with established quality plans, to the stipulated frequencies and standards are respected.

* Maintain an awareness of manufacturing test results and identify any trends, or out of specification values.

* Investigate any such trends and out of specification values and bring the results of this investigation to the attention of the production supervisor for action

* If necessary, raise process NCR’s and advise the Quality Supervisor on the likely impact of any deviation or production issue

* Assist in the resolution of identified issues, including additional non-routine testing, product inspection etc. as required.

* Complete all tests to trained methods in a timely manner.

* Record all test results in the defined records. Ensure the records are legible.

* Participate and support in any trials carried out in the plant. To include:

* Following a trial control plan for any investigations and trials, to include in-process controls and final product verification.

* Liaise with the Production Supervisor and the Quality Supervisor to verify and approve any trial control plan.

* Ensure that all trial results are rigorously documented.

* Inspection of any suspect stock manufactured by any shift, including additional testing if required to determine the product quality. Reporting of the findings of any such inspection to the Quality Supervisor so a decision can be made as to the appropriate disposition of stock.

* Control of non-conforming product during any re-work or re-grade operations. Reporting any deviation from established procedure to the shift supervisor, or quality supervisor.

* Any other duties, as demanded by the job role and as requested by your line manager as and when required.
