Overview
Permanent Veterinary Surgeon – Barnsley
Key Details- Working Days: 4–5 days per week, including 1 in 3 Saturdays
- Hours:
Weekdays 8:30 am–6:00 pm;
Saturdays 8:30 am–12:00 pm - Duties:
Consultations, routine and emergency soft tissue surgery, case work-ups, and involvement in second opinions - Salary:

- The client is seeking a full-time Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-managed independent small animal practice.
- The role will suit a clinician who values early diagnosis, sound case work-ups, and clear client communication.
- The successful candidate will deliver a mix of consultations and surgery, contribute to second-opinion cases, and participate in a balanced surgical rota. Confidence with sole charge will be required after an induction period.
- The practice offers 15-minute consults, protected same-day and emergency slots, and no on call.
- Professional development is supported with fully funded CPD, certificate funding where relevant, and in-house training on all equipment. The salary is dependent on experience.

Cloud-based practice management and recorded telephony support efficient workflows and protect clinical teams.
- The team manages a high volume of complex second opinions and undertakes advanced diagnostics, including imaging and organ biopsies.
