Registered Veterinary Nurse - Small Animal
We are currently looking for a Small Animal Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team at Churchfield Veterinary Centre in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
Your New RoleAs a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will play an essential role in supporting our veterinary team in a range of clinical tasks, including assisting with various surgical procedures, promoting dental care, and providing consultations for health checks and general care.
About UsWe are a small animal practice based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, with excellent commuter access, located just five minutes from Junction 37 of the M1 motorway. Our small animal department focuses on delivering high‑quality first‑opinion care, working cases up to a high standard across orthopaedic, soft tissue and dental surgery, as well as internal medicine investigations. The clinic is well equipped with modern facilities, including digital radiography, colour Doppler ultrasound, endoscopy, comprehensive dentistry equipment, and an in‑house laboratory.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, organised, and self‑motivated team player with practice experience. Good communication skills are essential. We welcome and encourage development in all areas of first‑opinion small animal practice. We are keen to ensure that the working hours and benefits match your needs as much as possible.
Working HoursThis is a full‑time position working 35 hours per week, although part‑time applications will also be considered. Shifts are scheduled between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with an average shift length of seven hours. There may be occasional longer days to allow for time off during the week. The role includes participation in a 1‑in‑5 Saturday morning rota, with those hours returned as time off in lieu.
There are no out‑of‑hours responsibilities, although some evening inpatient care may be required.
