This company is a recognised pioneer in hard-faced plate technology and produces complex fabricated components for global heavy industry sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing engineering environment where quality, innovation, and technical expertise are at the heart of everything they do.
The Role
As Fabrication Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day running of a busy fabrication workshop, leading a team of welders and fabricators producing chrome carbide overlay plate fabrications, wear-resistant components and refurbished industrial parts.
This is a hands-on leadership role, perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced heavy engineering setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and mentor a team of welders and fabricators in a large, modern workshop.
- Allocate workloads, manage workflow, and ensure projects are completed on time.
- Oversee production of hardfaced plate fabrications, curved and conical components, and wear-resistant assemblies.

- Conduct toolbox talks, ensure correct PPE usage, and promote a strong safety culture.
We're looking for someone with:
- Proven experience supervising a fabrication or heavy engineering workshop.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes (open arc, submerged arc, MIG/MAG, TIG, and hard facing).
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Experience working to ASME IX / BS EN welding codes.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- A hands-on leadership style and passion for quality and safety.
Desirable:
Experience with wear-resistant materials, chrome carbide overlay plate, refurbishment work, or heavy industrial components.
What's on Offer
- Competitive salary
- Overtime opportunities
- Company pension
- Training and development in advanced hard facing and fabrication techniques
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
- A chance to work with cutting-edge materials in a respected engineering organisation
