About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Bid Manager to join our team in Barnsley, supporting the delivery of high-quality bids and proposals within the rail and civil engineering sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven professional to take ownership of the bid process, from initial opportunity tracking through to submission and post-bid review.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the end-to-end bid process, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions

Develop bid strategies and win themes in line with company objectives

Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to gather technical, commercial, and operational input

Produce compelling, client-focused proposals and presentations

Ensure bids are fully compliant with client requirements, governance processes, and industry standards

Track, analyse, and report on bid outcomes, driving continuous improvement

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, partners, and clients

About You

Proven experience as a Bid Manager within the rail or civil engineering industries

Strong understanding of bid management processes and best practice methodologies

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce persuasive content

Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under pressure

Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail

Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and influence outcomes

Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline desirable (APMP/Shipley accreditation advantageous)
