Weare seeking to recruit well motivated individuals to work in our busy Outpatients Department where you will carry out a full range of duties in orderto provide an effective and efficient service.
Forthis role it is essential that you are educated to O level/GCSE Standard(grades 9-4), NVQ in Customer Care or Business Administration or equivalent,with experience of working in an outpatient department.
Withgood communication and interpersonal skills, you will have experience of communicating with a wide range of people on all levels either by telephone orface to face. You will be able to work on your own initiative, prioritising your workload and paying attention to detail at all times whilst working under pressure and to tight deadlines. You will be a good team player with aflexible approach to work, pleasant personality and positive outlook.
This role is a fantastic opportunity for apprentices who are currently studying for NVQ Level 2/3, apprentices should note that thesalary would be Agenda for Change Annex 21 trainee rate (75% max of band) until they have completed their apprenticeship.
Main duties of the jobThe main role of the Outpatient Department is to provide both clerical and administrative staff and systems in order to maintain support to the Clinical teams
The booking of New Urgent and Routine appointments into the correct slots and rescheduling as appropriate.
To contact GPs for any missing referrals/ referrals not attached to the Electronic booking system (EBS)
Input Clinic Outcome Sheets onto Medway and arrange appointments for patients as directed by the clinical staff, ensuring patients are given/sent timely appointments. To ensure all patient outcomes arerecorded on Medway, including any outpatient clinical coding and treatment status coding.
Ensure confidentiality at all times,answer telephone calls and relaying messages in a timely and appropriate manner, referring clinical queries to the relevant staff member.
Assisting with the duties of other outpatient clerical staff where appropriate.
To be flexible to the needs of the service/Department and Trust.

Person Specification Qualifications- Educated to GCSE level or relevant equivalent experience
