As a Senior Community Podiatrist, youll work across all areas of our service, including Nail Surgery, High Risk Foot, Biomechanics/MSK, and Core Podiatry. Our intention stoi allow you to discover all aspects of our autonomous profession and let yoube in control of building your career.
You will receive regular one-to-one supervision, a personalised development plan, access to annual CPDfunding, opportunities to undertake Masters modules such as Non-Medical Prescribing, and be given, the newly created, dedicated S.P.A.R.E time for supportingprofessional activities.

We wouldn't expect you to fulfilthe job role on day one. With coaching, mentoring and development you grow into your role, building a truly prepared Podiatrist. Youll have the freedom, support, and guidance to work across all areas of podiatry.
In MSK and Biomechanics we haveour own manufacturing facility where you can build skills making bothcustom and semi-custom orthoses. Our advanced clinicians in biomechanics,paediatrics, and adult therapy are available to mentor and support your growth.
In the High-Risk Foot area,youll work with patients who need extra support helping them achieve healthylower limbs. Well guide you through PGD training. Our advanced clinicians, who are all non-medicalprescribers with access to clinical investigations, will support you so you cantreat patients independently.
For nail surgery, youll rotatethrough our dedicated minor surgical suite, performing procedures and assessingwhich patients are suitable.
Our Core Podiatry has aninclusion and exclusion criteria. Whilst we are not truly in a prevention model of care, we are tryingto achieve this in a way that keeps clinicians free to apply their skills tothe entire podiatric caseload.

Job responsibilitiesToact as a senior community podiatrist within in the community setting of Barnsley. This senior community podiatrist role is designed to assess, treat,diagnose, manage and discharge, all appropriately triaged patients across allsub specialities of Podiatry which include Wound Care, MSK/Biomechanics, Nail Surgery and Core Podiatry.
Towork as an autonomous podiatrist, working collaboratively with other members ofthe Podiatric and wider NHS community services to deliver and sustain high quality care, against national standards and frameworks.
Toassist and work alongside other advanced clinical podiatrists of allsub-specialities, in planning, developing and implementation of podiatry care strategies in line with national and local targets, guidelines and frameworks.
Toactively engage and participate in clinical supervision, appraisals, studentsupervision and teaching.
To participate in evidence-based research opportunities, deemed appropriate forthe role.
